Types of Motorcycle Insurance

Bodily Injury Liability Auto Coverage

Pays for medical and legal protection should you cause bodily injury to another person while operating your motorcycle.

Motorcycle Guest Passenger Liability

In states where Motorcycle Guest Passenger Liability Coverage is separate from bodily injury liability, this coverage will pay for bodily injury, including medical expenses, or death to a passenger, on your covered motorcycle for which you, or another insured driver under your policy are legally responsible as a result of an accident.

Property Damage Motorcycle Auto Coverage

Pays for damage to another’s property which is caused while operating your motorcycle.

Collision Motorcycle Coverage

Pays for loss or damage to your motorcycle as a result of colliding with another object or the vehicle overturning.

Comprehensive Motorcycle Coverage

Pays for loss or damage to your motorcycle from theft, vandalism, flood, fire or other covered disasters.

Medical Payments Motorcycle Coverage

Pays for medical and funeral expenses incurred by you and certain others insured under your policy as a result of bodily injury or death caused by an motorcycle accident.

Personal Injury Protection

In states with No-Fault insurance, this pays, within state specified limits, certain medical expenses of the insured driver, motorcycle passengers and pedestrians.

Uninsured Motorist Motorcycle Coverage

Pays for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained by you, and passengers on your covered motorcycle, in an accident for which the person legally liable does not have insurance in place.

Custom Parts and Equipment or Accessories Coverage

If you carry Comprehensive or Collision, this coverage pays for accessories on your motorcycle. Coverage specifics do vary by state, though additional coverage may be purchased. Accessories might include, but are not limited to: saddlebags, backrests, seats, levers, CB radios and chrome parts. Custom Parts and Equipment Coverage is not available in North Carolina.

Motorcycle Replacement Coverage

If you carry Comprehensive and Collision coverage, you can purchase this coverage which will provide a replacement motorcycle of like kind and quality if your motorcycle is declared a total loss for reasons other than theft or mysterious disappearance. This coverage does not apply to optional or custom parts or equipment.

Towing

Covers emergency towing costs (up to the limit selected) available when your covered motorcycle cannot be driven.
